A Clonmel-based electrical company has confirmed that it has ceased trading. The directors of Jer Ryan Electrical Contractors of Western Road Clonmel say they have taken this decision due to adverse trading conditions in the construction sector. In a statement issued yesterday afternoon, the directors thanked their loyal staff of 142 people who have been with them for the past 16 years.

One can only assume that 'management' have been earnestly trying - since the 'downturn' - to seek other sources of business - other than the construction industry - (in order) to keep their business afloat.

What a shame.
