Given the Bearish day thats in it ... I thought that I might share that bit of information with you. :)



By grouping the sequenced DNA pieces according to how similar they were, the researchers were able to reconstruct the bears' past. They discovered that modern polar bear mitochondrial DNA was most similar to that of the extinct Irish brown bear. Thus modern polar bears come from Europe, not islands between Alaska and Siberia ...

Then again why bother. There are plenty of ghost estates - we could just repatriate them :)

of course Polar bears are from Ireland!! What other country in the world is shaped like a teddy bear? ... but how to explain their addiction to watermelons?

They often say the irish diaspora is more nationalistic than those living here.
