Just saw on Indymedia that long-time and ultra-determined anti-war protestor Brian Haw has died. For those who have forgotten, he was the protestor that kept a ten-year vigil on the Houses of Parliament reminding its inhabitants of the warmongering that is part and parcel of US/UK foreign policy. Such was the irritation his tableau caused MPs and peers that a law prohibiting protest in Parliament Square (but more specifically directed at him) was enacted, but found to be in breach of Britain's 'human rights commitments' in the high court - Mr. Haw kept his right to protest where he chose, suffering the multiple harassments HMG could throw at him. I and I am sure many others will give thanks for his determined stand against imperialist wars and for the public's right to protest. RIP Brian.

As a long term peace activist Buddha, I'm sure that you know who Brian Haw is.

I saw his protest some years ago, but I did not realise he was so determent. I now wish I had tried to meet him. He sounds like a great soul.
