The relationships between the UK and oil producing states never fail to appal and or entertain. Yesterday it was the 8 helicopter-borne SAS men "looking for a hotel" in Benghazi.

Today its Prince Andrew's "voluntary" (unpaid?) activities as a trade envoy to Saudi Arabia. He plans a trip apparently at the same time as pro democracy protests in the next few weeks. His mission may be called off due to his association with under age girls connected to a man who served a prison sentence in relation to sex with under age girls.

Vince Cable is not amused. It isn't that long since Andrew's ex-wife was videod soliciting cash from a businessman in exchange for a meeting with Andrew.

They've both been feral about money since blowing all theirs on coke in the 80's and 90's. Bet the palace isn't too keen either since the estate the queen gave them as a wedding present was sold off in a dodgy deal to some kazakh businessman and is slowly falling apart in Berkshire or wherever it is.

Andrew is a bit too close to the wild east when it comes to acquaintances...

It gets worse, the same man, Epstein apparently paid some of Andrew's Ex Wife's debt, to help her avoid bankrupcy

A CONVICTED paedophile helped the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson avoid bankruptcy by paying off part of her 5m (5.8m) debts after an intervention from the Duke of York.
Jeffrey Epstein gave 15,000 (17,500) to the duchess's former personal assistant, Johnny O'Sullivan, after the duke allegedly made a personal appeal to him to help his former wife with her financial troubles.
A source who was involved in negotiations around the duchess's finances said the duke was "sorting the offer" of financial help from Mr Epstein when the two men were photographed together in New York's Central Park last December.
The duchess's spokesman confirmed last night that Mr Epstein, who was sentenced to 18 months in jail for child sex offences in 2008, paid off part of the 78,000 (91,000) the duchess owed Mr O'Sullivan in a "private arrangement" between the two men.
The money is understood to have changed hands at around the time the duke met Mr Epstein.

A timeline of some of Andrew's "trade contacts"

British tax payers have paid over 15 million in the last ten years to ship Andrew and his retinue around on his voluntary exploits, since he left the army.

2000: Invites Jeffrey Epstein to Sandringham together with close friend Ghislaine Maxwell. Epstein is later convicted of child sex offences while Miss Maxwell is said to have "procured" girls for him.

June 2007: Introduces socialite Goga Ashkenazi to the Queen as he spends the day with her in the royal box at Ascot racecourse. Miss Ashkenazi, the mistress of the Kazakh billionaire Timur Kulibayev, is later rumoured to have helped him find a buyer for his house, Sunninghill Park.

September 2007: Sells Sunninghill Park, his home in Berkshire, to Mr Kulibayev for 3 million more than the 12 million asking price, despite no other offers being made.

November 2007: Meets Col Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam for the first time. He is reported to have had at least four further meetings with the Libyan, though Buckingham Palace insists he has only met him twice.

November 2008: Enjoys four-day holiday in Tunisia paid for by Tarek Kaituni, a convicted Libyan gun smuggler, before visiting Col Gaddafi in Libya.

Oh, and 3/4 of the great British public are in favour of keeping the Royal family.

Why?? I do not understand. Expensive and useless, and maintaining the remnants of a feudal era social hierarchy.

At least we're a republic, for all our faults.
