I didnt vote sf but it would be good to have a left and far left govt in 2016 led by sf.

Do you really really think so Ap, they have no sustainable polices or mandates, great news that they will be strong in opposition and at the moment I really believe that is where they belong and look forward to hearing their heckles loud and strong in the dail. My opinion obviously..:D

You're right to be worried, when we're young we tend to be a bit romantic about our voting patterns, I know I did, but as we gain experience and live through a variety of governments we realise they're all a bit useless and self serving but we have to pick the least evil of the alternatives offered and hope for the best, not ideal I know...

@jinny joe thats what i did by voting 2 ind's. next time, in 3 years time, i hope that this new party im launching can run candidates in leinster and maybe parts of ulster. The fact that the ind. economist i voted for on national issues may be prepared to endorse it is heartening. he got 700 first prefs in louth/coastal meath.

Amazing night for Sinn Féin all over. Sandra McLellan is a major gain for them in Cork East. I believe she is well-regarded in the Youghal area.
