RTE news tonight

Kieran Finnerty, owner of Sin E, closed his doors today. What an apt name for the times we live in. He had a note on the shutter saying "Sin E, that's it 2003 to 2011. Due to upward only rent aka highway robbery, he couldn't pay the randsom of €100k p.a. (he would have needed to sell 170,000 pints p.a. according to my mathematicial friend) to cover his rent. Yes you did read that right, €100k, the mind boggles. So now, we have a family with dad out of work, another shuttered shop on the row. And the taxman looses a huge whack.

.....looking forward. Knowledge economy.

Death of another business. R.I.P. If you are reading this Kieran, who is your landlord?

A great pity. Love this place, reminded myself just the other day to pop in for a pint.
Scratch that, I guess :(

thats the one Ah Well. One of the comments mentioned a lot of staff behind the bar, he employed 18 staff apparently, part of his eventual problem I suppose.
