There are finally the beginnings of a proper debate on this subject. I will post more on it; for the moment please be aware of the track record of the person that the IT has chosen to calm the movement down. He was in fact prepared to spend several millions of taxpayers’ money in a fortunately unsuccessful attempt to introduce summary dismissal for all academics;

hmmm. just for comparison, what are our other 3rd level institutions spending on similar disputes?? Apart from DCU, I'm not aware of anything much high profile, but that may just be ignorance on my part....

Cork spent a reported 4 million in the case against Connell Fanning, which they lost. They will probably spend more on the Dylan Evans case

Stuart Neilson used to maintain a page with all judgements but this is the only thing I currently can find;

Forgive me, but as an Irishman I am incandescent with rage that the government allowed this foreign dilettante come in and destroy the lives of hundreds of good scholars at massive cost to the taxpayer
