Not much change, but I believe this was taken before it was clear the IMF is here.

Does anyone have any more info on this Poll ?

Debated where this little link should go and finally settled for here
http://www.highlandradio.com/2010/11/20/minister-urges-public-to-pray-things-do-not-get-worse/

The Minister for Social Protection says people should ‘pray’ that the finances of the country improve.

Eamon O’Cuiv says the next three weeks, due to the government’s budget and four year year recovery plan , are crucial for Ireland’s future.

He says that not everything is in the control of the government and people should pray that things improve:

It beggars belief that there are 17% of those polled prepared to support FF. FF have destroyed this country and anyone who is prepared to support them is complicit in that. They are no friends of Ireland. They should be ashamed of themselves.

That will have declined by about 5% in the next poll thanks to the IMF coming in. Would be interesting to see the methodology of the company who did it.

Even 12% support for them would be appalling. Anyone doing so would want to seriously question themselves tbh.

I'd say this is well worth having a thread of it's own (http://www.politicalworld.org/showthread.php?p=93527#post93527).

Presumably the 12% represents the few stragglers from the era of civil war politics. Plus, perhaps there's an element of clientism, as in "sure didn't he get my sister's neighbour's streetlight fixed" going on. It is still baffling though.

It's very simple...it seems to me; Ireland ("of the welcomes") is still poisoned by quite a few who will vote any one in power who will 'look after' their own interests....it's the same (supremely greedy) capitalist mentality that has pervaded all societies since time immemorial! So...the Irish (or a significant number) are no different than any perverted self-serving, corrupt society in history...yes? If you want to change this OBVIOUS fact....what do you want to do about it?

So here's the options for next government:

FG(33%) + FF(17%) = 50%
Labour (27%) + SF (11%) + a few % from other = 38%+

Sadly we might get stuck with FG/Labour. It seems when Sinn Fein go up Labour go down. If people knew what left wing options where they'd vote for them in droves but sadly the business lobby takes over.
