I have just heard from a mate working in the dail, that a number of FF TD's will be voting against the government in the motion of no confidence against Harney.
This is a massive 2 fingers and Cowen cannot survive as its essentially a vote on his leadership.
There are rumours of a possible leadership challenge also.
This unstability in government combined with the passport office strike, soon to be joined by social welfare offices are creating a powder keg situation for the country.
Cowen cant do a real reshuffle now, and as the anger begins to take hold amongst the citizens we are heading for serious violence if an election is not called ASAP.
The vaccuum at the top and the lack of leadership has given rise to this situation, so FF and Cowen can only blame themselves.
Get the popcorn out folks, this is def going to be fun.

The leaking of the DDDA is important also, this did not happen by accident.
Remember folks, there are more of us than there are of them.
Time to take our country back folks, its only Cowen and FF in our way.

Civil disorder is more likely. When Harney loses the vote of no confidence, Clowen will ignore it.

I'll believe it when I see it. too many false dawns at this stage. Plus we are dealing with a shower that cling to office the same way a man clings to edge of a cliff.
Maybe we need a ratings system for how likely the End of this Junta is. The Doomsday Clock once reached Two Minutes to Midnight. If we had a similar clock for FF, id set it to Quarter past One.

"The people are in despair at this moment and to say on this day to him that he needs to consider his position and to explain himself better and that he should go to put the country first."
It is my personal opinion that he should consider his position.
...I do know that there is serious disquiet in the PP ..in relation to the reshuffle and the Ombudsmans Report.... I would have liked to see a different direction... I now think we need a new direction...and to build a new Republic ... build and work together..."
Cowen's policies described as "Tribalist"
McGuinness would not name replacement leaders.
He would not go forward for leadership "I would like to do it of course"...experienced members blah..
He is going into the Dail - live streaming via the Portal

That could be a key point, who was it leaked to? Who is he friendly.
A vote on Harney would be a classic way to trigger an election for FF. Brilliant. Totally screws the greens and indos also.
He is not defo gone, but it is as close as it has been. He needs to pull a serious rabbit out of the hat here. If the unions are for real about an election, now is the time to push the dispute over the line.

Digout and political world bring down taoiseach? Harney is a nice issue for the backbenchers to heave on, also the wave of disbelief and anger about 2 more green ministers.
Mind you none of them will be sitting in the next dail except maybe Ryan so they need their pension boost.
Dont the Greens know how that looks? Sack cloth and ashes would have the way for them to go...............................interesting times
I wonder would a woman leader actually help them stay in power , i think it might .

Mary Coughlan, Education minister surely an oxymoron? The cabinet reshuffle is just an attempt to save Cowen and FF's behind, nothing to do with getting the right people into the right positions and getting the country back on track. Then again perhaps it will have the affect of embarrasing them even further when its shown up that the new position holders are clueless to the extreme in their new arenas. I hope the next polls will confirm for us that FF's PR stunt is irrelevant and copped onto, while they sink further down.

You wish Digout. Example; One night working very late in the corridors of very little power I met Cowen as I made my way to Dáil Restaurant for a bite to eat. This was the time when Labour were about to pull out of Government, over that paedophile, and other sh*te, you recall. He, Brian, looked exhausted. Washed out. Bent over with the weight of it all. "Please dear God", I begged, "don't let him sit near me in the Restaurant, I forgot my umbrella". I grabbed a plate of grub and a pot of tea and went into the darkest corner. A shadow fell over me and my heart sank along with my appetite. "Hiya E...., you're working late. That boss of yours must be up to something", he spluttered. "You look tired", I told the floor as he had just stuffed a sausage in his mouth". "I'm knackered, dead on my feet", can't take much more of this sh*te", he responded as he sprayed the newly painted wall.
One half hour later he had Pat Rabbitte gasping for mercy in the Dál Chamber. A hard task for most T.D.s when Rabbitte is on form. Spring sprang the trap shut the next morning, but I am telling you now, Cowen loved it. Even losing. He's a bull-dog that one and will not give up easy. It'll take more than McGuinness to bring him down. His lips could, mind you, the weight of them. Oh sick!
