Howdy folks. Mostly I surf the forum without logging in. If I find something I want to comment on, I log in.

Now when I look through the different threads, I get slapped by a java script pop up telling me to register. Or rather I did - I've isolated and killed it for the browser I use.

This type of harassment has never once persuaded me to join a forum or buy anything. Indeed it's had the opposite effect, in cases where I've not been able to find the right script to kill. The problem this time is that I'm unsure if the script I've knobbled was part of something else that will impact on the functionality of the forum for me.

Please don't let's head down this road.

Fair enough, Sean, but nothing is in place at the moment, we're just trying out some changes to registration generally, as we've been coming under a concerted spamming campaign.

Please give us a break and wait until the dust has settled...:)

Should have put up a "works in progress" sign.

Fair enough Cactus.

It seems too that I didn't isolate and kill the script, it was my logging in to start this thread that eased my torment. I can't find the particular script that controls it. In one sense I'm intrigued and impressed.

Anyway, if you wish to execute this thread and smack up a 'works in progress' sign, go ahead.
