Construction unions discuss 7.5% wage cut plan

Construction industry unions are to meet to discuss a proposal to cut some wages in the sector.

The Labour Court recommended that some wages be reduced by 7.5%.

The Federation had initially been looking for a 20% reduction.

The proposed reductions would affect tens of thousands of workers.

I'm amazed that there are still tens of thousands of workers in the construction industry.

There wont be soon if we dont get some new projects started. I believe the current figure is around 129,000
