Reckons he only found out last Tuesday ? I thought Harney knew about this last December, and she did not bother to tell Drumm ?

Sure the HSE has nothing to do with Harney.

He's proud of the fact that every radiology department in the country is under staffed.

If your illness comes up in the HSE lottery your X-ray will be read by an expert. If not, FOAD.

There is no public health system, there is a rag bag of services not connected or responsible to each other.

The Department of Health passes money to the HSE which "channels" it according to Brendan Drumm to various hospitals, including the completely unaccountable "voluntary" (i.e. religious) hospitals like Tallaght and (I presume) Drogheda.

There is no system of licensing private hospitals.

A GP on at 1.45 said that when it came to not dealing with G.P. referrals, Tallaght is far from the worst.

The elephant in the room is that private patients get completely different treatment.

It was depressing that he hadn't mastered the word "prioritised" and kept saying "priorised".

It could all be sorted out in 6 months, if there was the political will to do it. That's how long it took Nye Bevan to set up a comprehensive public health service in Britain, including recruiting and training the nurses.
