The Canadian police state really covered itself with glory on that day. Over 1,100 arrests and people put into Guantanamo Bay like cages.

The place, actually, has become virtually indistinguishable from the USA .... even down to participating in its foreign wars of aggression. A merge must surely soon be on the cards ...

From the RNN transcript though, the demonstrator herself says her arrest had nothing to do with the bubble thing but was because she was carrying a back pack. Amazed though I am to find myself appearing to defend G20 police, the guy had a point about there being detergent in the bubbles which she seemed to be blowing directly toward the face of the police officer at very close quarters? Kind of provoking, really?

Actually, I found the male cop ... female cop dynamic kinda interesting.

The female cop was interacting with the protester in a lighthearted way ... and shrugged when asked if the bubbles were bothering her.

Then a very angry male came over and intervened. He obviously thought not enough authority was being demonstrated. The look on the female cops face when he tells the young woman he will arrest her for blowing bubbles is priceless.

I wonder how female police officers feel about their male counterparts jumping in over them like that?

The best part of the video is when a protester tells officer bubbles that he expected a bit more civility for 1 billion dollars. Priceless. (excuse the pun)

Another aspect of the whole thing was the quality and extent of video coverage and it and of the G20 events. About 80% of the demonstrators seemed to be holding some form of camera.

Officer Bubbles has been outed !

He is Adam Josephs. The facebook page was taken down within hours of him being recognised but here is a link to a screenshot.

He states his employed to be the City of Toronto and his job as "collecting human garbage".

Let this be a warning to anyone considering a visit to Toronto. Avoid at all costs least you be considered a piece of "human garbage" and get "collected" by some steroid abusing neanderthal in a cops uniform.

Yes she was arrested for something else but that police officer wasn't fit for purpose. There was huge anger in him as he snarled at the girl, and yes she was being a **** but that's what youngsters do. His colleague was handling the situation way more professionally. I wondered what would have happened had there been no cameras. Neanderthals like him can cause crowd situations to descend into riots. The remainder of his career should be spent checking requisitions for paper-clips.

Just thinking, at the next public order event in Toronto the cops better wear waterproofs because if the crowds have any sense of humour they'll all come equipped with bubbles in honour of Constable Caveman. :)

This is the best one yet.

A 57 year old amputee had his prosthetic leg ripped off of him by the cops. He was told it was a weapon.:)

They ordered him to hop to the police van!

He was then taken to the holding centre and put into a cell for 27 hours.

All for sitting on the grass in the "designated protest area" ...

The first guy charged under the special powers made his eagerly awaited court appearance recently, all set to challenge the law .. only to discover that no one had any record of any charge against him. :):)

It's like something out of Kafka .....

World famous Toronto cop Adam Josephs (Job: Collecting human garbage according to himself) is now attempting to cash in on his notoriety by suing youtube for $1.2 million dollars. He is claiming his reputation has been damaged by cartoons appearing on youtube featuring "Office Bubbles"

He is also attempting to have the identity of those posting the cartoons disclosed.

The original cartoons have been taken down but new ones appeared this week.:)
