Watched the above man glibly justify the frying alive of little children day in day out throughout the attack on Gaza.
I saw this interview. The only time I saw him blench was at the idea that the Turkish Army might be coming for him.

Sorry DS, didn't see your clip when I posted this. I thought it deserved a thread on its own. But you have the credit of sourcing it first on Politicalworld.org!

The Israeli's deserve war and deserve a good hammering from whoever brings it to them.

Our Mr. Noel Dore (?) former UN Ambassador, caught this despicable man out 100% on today's Drivetime. Regev had cited a UN article as giving Israel a right to intervene in the flotilla.
Dore knew his UN law backways and showed it up as a deliberate fabrication.
Ms. Mary Wilson, who had lapped it up, was more than a little discomfitted :)

"Are you serious? The Turks are sending warships to attack Israel?"
Here lies the problem. John Snow said nothing of the sort. But the Israeli's don't see a difference between helping the Palestinian population and a direct attack on them.

The little skeered look was good though. Always nice to see a bully on the back foot.

I remember when Netanyahu was the official Israeli government spokesman during the first Gulf War- I think he qualified because he didn't have that Nosferatu accent one hears from Israeli politicians in a half-shout on the news.
So its a big position being a spokesman and Netanyahu had it easy as Israel was clearly the subject of aggression.
Regev has a different sort of challenge- develop a neck like the proverbial jockeys and when you run into trouble mention 'Katyushas', 'warheads' and the innocence of Israeli civilians as much as possible.
I think Regeve was rattled alright and te interview definitely gave the sense to me that Snow wasn't going to put up with a snotnose simply spouting propaganda.
I had the pleasure some years ago of coming across a file in which John Snow had been invited by my employers at the time to come along and do a bit of corporate jollying for a nice wedge.
To his credit the response was a page long explanation of why he wasn't a whore. It was a stinger.

Regev will say black is white and has often been caught out in blatant lies. Any well prepared interviewer would bring him to a crashing halt within a minute.

Thats the crux alright.

Snow's n a$$hole when it comes to Ireland; just like Paxman. I had to drag my chin from the floor when he introduced something on Ireland as "leprechaun thinking ".
Jesus spit it out cub. Can I say Jesus ?? Do we all hate jews or not ??

Hope he keeps going- he's not even remotely plausible. I notice from checking around the Israeli media that they seem to be very sensitive about the 'second battefield' ie global public opinion.
They are losing there big style and I notice apart from a few isolated aplogists the megaphoner operation doesn't seem to have clicked in this time around the way it was launched around the Gaza invasion.
Internal Israeli politics are worth noting as well as the rightwing nutcase Zionists have far too much sway in the Knesset via the Netanyahu coalition and there are signs among moderate Israelis with brains that small actions like attacking an aid convoy plays well among the hardliners but it doesn't improve the messages coming back from wealthy Israeli backers in New York and London who are aware of Israel's nosedive into rogue state status.
I suspect there may be an internal move soon to push the right wingers to one side- the Americans will back a section of the Knesset which is willing to negotiate with Palestine. Either way it must be dawning among Israelis that they are heading down a one way street.
Even the raving mad Bush/Rumsfeld regime in the States knew they couldn't act in isolation so spent an inordinate amount of time spreading the necessary lies among allied nations.
If Israle thinks it can defy the international community then they are making a grave mistake and they are playing with fire by pissing off their financial backers in the states and elsewhere.

Sadly I don't think there's any big difference between the Bush and Obama Administrations beyond a bit of spin.

I notice that the International Herald Tribune/New York Times is publishing articles from more moderate Israelis expressing their view that Israeli policy is fairly disastrous in the long run.
This is something of a change for the New York Times in particular and I do get the sense that more and more Americans are wondering why the hell Israel snaps it fingers and Washington jumps.
Obama is well aware of the AIPAC lobby and I think he was referring to them in particular when he announced restrictions on lobbyists at Capitol Hill early in his administration.
I think they are uncomfortably aware that the US's tail being wagged by an Israeli dog does not add to the already damaged reputation of the United States in the world.

I find the idea that the Yanks are keeping this equivalent of the barbary Pirates as a sort of over-fed attack dog puzzling: even totally capitalist regimes usually have a better sense of their own interest. I think, on the whole, that the AIPAC terror is equivalent to Mccarthyism, and the right bit of publicity could blow it apart, as the Army hearings saw off the drunken old Witchfinder. The trouble seems to be that the Republicans are all on dope and not much in touch with the world.
