Am I alone when I say that the Sindo is the new FF rag. Week after week it tries to lift up Cowen & FF, and pour scorn on the opposition. Yesterday it had as lead letter an anonymous one which mentioned only one person in a derogatory manner- Enda Kenny. I suspect it was written by in house staff. This paper is polluted by Eoghan Harris, Jody Corcoran, Brendan O 'Connor, Willie O'Dea. I myself have stopped buying it after a lifetime. I am not a member of any party, but fair is fair. In fact the Irish Press while favourable to FF was fair and gave everyone a shout.

Sunday Independent may as well have a Fianna Fail logo on the front page....
Have not bought it in years and in fact when my wife does by it by mistake, i've returned it.

It was the money that Dev raised in the USA which was used to fund the Irish press. Can't you see that FF haven't changed their ways re their handling of money be used for oother purposes since then. It was like a leopard whose spots can't be changed.

As there are two young boys at home, I won't have it in the house. Buying it should be a reserved sin. Our local Dunnes does not sell the IT or the ST, which is almost enough to stop me shopping in Dunnes...
It is a neat encapsulation for everything vile in Irish society. I don't know how Gene Kerrigan still writes there...

My daughter came home with it yesterday and it caused a row in the house as I take a quick look at it on the net ( while that lasts). I agree how does Gene Kerrigan stick it. You haved as well as Harris, Corcoran, O Coonor, the famous "Best is yet to come"Marc Coleman, economics pundit.

Never read it now, wasn't The Sindo Bertie's No 1 cheerleader from 1997 thru to 2007. Hasn't changed much over the years.

And of course dont forget O Reillky's famous "Payback Time"editorial on front page day of 1997 election. Landed us with Bertie, Cowen and McCreevy

No. Traditionally The Irish Press was the FF paper and The Irish Independent was FG.

You are correct, but then both Ind and Press gave decent coverage to all sides, without going ott for any of them. But Sindo is the pits, Corcoran, turncoat Harris who got his ass on a senate seat from Bertie. I do miss Press also, it was a good news paper. But O Reilly is the new Murdoch of Irish media.
I always thought the Sunday Independent was muck, cant understand why anyone would read it or the sunday world.
The SBP and the tribune are my sunday papers of choice, although David McWilliams seems to have lost his touch recently. I used to like the Sunday Times until Lisbon mark 1 when I thought they were pushing a British agenda and stopped buying since. The Irish Independent on the other days of the week is quite good (especially Saturdays), not as serious as the Irish Times but much more interesting and readable. I dont know if any one else noticed but the Irish independent is available in a lot of english hotels for free. Its nice when your over there, saves you logging on to check the news.

Yeah but that was a long long time ago! The Indo group have been trenchantly - hysterically, even - FF since the mid 90s
Wasn't it always a Fianna Fail supporters paper ?
No, it was very FG for years. It switched when the peace process started I think and property became more important than principles.

Sunday's past was the worst ever. Talking up Lennie, the economy, Cowen, the Budget the austerity measures.
Meanwhile tonight the sky falls down as Germany bans naked short selling for some unknown reason motivated by panic. But sure don't ruin the opiate optimism at the inm. We've turned the corner.

saw the sunday world yesterday. Ireland's dimmer version of Jordan ,amanda brunker was defending that greaseball bill cullen .as well as loads of dodgy stories concocted from the previous weeks court reports.
