I walked through the foul smelling, "The Barracks" on my way to Golden Bridge primary school for a couple of years 1947-49. Before attending St Michaels CB for a short time. The windows of the stone buildings had bars on them! I did not know then it was Keogh Barracks.

I socialised with a young man that grew up in the Barracks, in Manchester UK, early 1970S. A very handsome guy, shades of 'Danger Man', Patrick Magoohan.
Mansergh and I had a difference of opinion highlighted in The Irish times, letters page a number of years ago. I may turn up to heckle the twerp!

Small world eh?

You're very welcome to come along and heckle to your heart's content ......... as long as you pony up the €15 for the book. The author will sign it for you as you come in the door.

I was only half serious. But I will purchase the book. Maybe more than one copy. My older sisters would enjoy it.

Looks interesting; good luck. Googled the Ledwidge society; for some reason the name rang a bell. I really think the local history and literature commemorators and recorders are doing a fabulous job of recording our local history and literary performers for posterity.
Great stuff, and hopefully you'll have a good turnout.
