The Self-organised European Citizen’s Initiative against TTIP and CEDA (http://ttip.ie/sign-up/)

Our Network's aim is to share information and to stimulate greater awareness and public debate on the anti-democratic implications of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), its private negotiation process and its provision for a private corporate court.

On Saturday 11th October, we are hosting a series of workshops to demonstrate how the TTIP would negatively impact on food standards, workers’ rights and public services, as well lead to the payment of billions of euro in compensation to big business should we legislate to stop Fracking and reduce carbon emissions, not only for us in Europe and America, but for the peoples of the developing world as well.

The workshops will be followed by report-backs and group-discussion focused on the actions we as citizens can take together to help defeat TTIP; and then, we are launching European civil society’s petition to stop the TTIP trade deal here in Ireland.

Impressive. Where do the different political parties stand on this ?

From the beginnings of this campaign Paul Murphy has provided invaluable help from his onetime membership of the European Parliament Committee on International Trade.

Please sign the petition to stop the secret talks between the EU and the US

6,073 signatures from Republic of Ireland for the European Citizens' Initiative (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Citizens%27_Initiative/); we need to get to 8,250 before Christmas so that there are seven countries reaching the quota to make it official. One further push!

SHARE among your friends on fb, twatter, Google +, StumbleUpon, Tumblr, Pinterest, blogger etc - your work colleagues, family, in-laws, neighbours, those people from down the road that you met on holidays and promised to connect on Facebook.

The message needs to get out beyond the "usual suspects". If ever anyone normally apolitical did something political let this be it! Sign the petition.
