Moss brought us a link the the National Library site, which in turn to me to the Office of the Chief Herald of Ireland.

The Office is a state of crisis, as the Chief Herald has retired and presumably due to the recruitment embargo has not been replaced. The various Corporations, Companies and eminent individuals waiting for their coats of arms seem to be in for a long wait.

There is a lot of graphic talent on this site. This competion is to design a coat of arms for any Head of State, Cabinet member or other Minister in Ireland (N or S).

Examples of the work of the Office of the Chief Herald can be seen here.

Maybe the Ruane coat of arms has already won.

'Malo Mori Quam Foedari' - I'd rather die than be shamed. :D

And three deers. Dear! Dear! Dear!
