I'm going to put a little betting chip down that Priti Patel, elected for the Conservatives in Witham (a new borough following boundary changes) is likely to become a Junior Minister in fairly short order.
She's a qualified economist and has done the hard yards around the UK trying to persuade the Tory Blue Rinse brigade to adopt her as a candidate. Not an easy call when you are the daughter of Asian immigrants who fled Uganda with nothing in the 70's.
Been a Conervative counsellor in Watford for years- previously had a stint as PPS to William Hague which is why I think the omens are good for a rapid promotion for this lady.
