Please help to spread the word about this via Facebook, twitter and etc. - It is a protest organised by laundry workers, their families and supporters, against the refusal of the Orders to be accountable for their actions.

Tuesday (https://www.facebook.com/events/calendar/2013/July/23) 23rd July 6:00pm until 8:00pm

Sisters of Mercy, Catherine McAuley Centre, 23 Herbert St. (corner of Herbert St. and Baggot St. Lower) Dublin 2

The four religious orders responsible for the abuses committed in the Magdalene Laundries - the Sisters of Mercy, the Good Shepherd Sisters, the Sisters of Charity, and the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity of Refuge - have refused to contribute to the compensation fund for their former residents. The taxpayer is now being forced to pick up the tab: €35m-€58m. We need to let them know that we are not going to let them get away with this and we're not going to pay for the crimes they committed. The Taoiseach has asked them to “reflect” on their decision. Let’s help them reflect by peacefully protesting at the Catherine Mc Auley Centre, 23 Herbert St. (corner of Herbert St. and Baggot St. Lower), Dublin 2 – the Dublin headquarters of the Sisters of Mercy. Please share this page and invite your friends!
