All national budgets to be presented to the commission for review by Oct. 15 at latest even before they are presented to national parliaments. And with regard to eurozone countries in “severe” financial difficulties discretionary spending power is removed and the commission is allowed to unilaterally send in a taskforce to monitor decision-making.

Here are the detailed proposals that were given initial approval by the finance ministers on Feb 21:

The new regulations are known as the "two pack" and follow on the "six pack" of financial regulations passed in recent months.

Fascism alive and well in the EU.

Van Rumpey said he wants another term as president, no elections of course.

Surely a referendum needed ?

Not when the European People's Party are governing Ireland.

They are EPP first, FG second, always blueshirt fascists,

You have just stated that FG/LAB are incompetent and incapable of balancing the books.

Many would agree.

Certainly won't forget that either and don't disagree.

That is not the issue. I was responding to you having stated that this "new" FG/LAB Government are incapable of balancing the books and need outside help

Neighbours who lent us money at substantial interest, to repay debts to their family businesses, debts that we didn't incur in the first place.
