In the Gresham on Saturday the 25th, the Bliss festival will be held, Ireland's first ever sex festival. Everything you can think of will be discussed, from speed-dating to more, ahem, 'meaty' topics. Is this something important and worthy of attention, or is it just a group of people trying to cause some controversy and make their names?

I've interviewed one of the organisers of the Bliss festival and he was very upfront about it. It appears to be a bona fide event:

Looks like a bit of hype for 'alternative' therapies. No need to drag Brendan and Catríona out of retirement.

Brendan and Catriona who?

:) I forgot you're of tender years.

Many years ago the Late Late did a show on self help sex books. The panel included a couple called Brendan and Catríona. They were, even for the time, very conservative and gave rise to much mirth from vulgarians and heathens.

The satirical radio show Scrap Saturday used to parody them with sketches that included lines like "One two three, in. One two three, out. Lets hope we made a baby."

When you don't cough up the goods on Valentine's day you can find yourself in strange places. :)

I'm wondering what this could possible entail given the subject matter of the Festival. Could one of you go along for a "short treatment" and report back?

Brendan and Caitriona, who achieved instant mythical status as symbols of an Ireland on the run, came into it with a new SPUC sex video describing the "now famous John Paul II method".

4) Brendan & Caitriona, a married couple who appeared on The Late Late Show
criticising the video The Lovers Guide; Eoghan Harris, a television producer, who
transformed himself from Workers Party ideologue to Fine Gael advisor, who
denounced socialism while still claiming to be a marxist

Perhaps a bit pricey at 55 euro for the day. I'm intrigued by "Spiritual Speed Dating".
Do both parties have to be spiritual for it to work?
